About The Event

Friday, November 1, 2024 

12:30-1pm: Registration 

1-4:15pm (3 Hours):  Mental Health & Medical Transition Care for the Gender Diverse Client. Penny Jacobs, CRNP  

Participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate names, pronouns, clinical settings, experience & Impact with/on Gender Diverse individuals
  • Discuss World Professional Association for Transgender Health Guidelines & the Gender Dysphoria diagnosis
  • Understand Medical Transition & the impact on emotional health

4:15-5:30 Time of sharing: Voluntary, no CEUs, support and care for ourselves. 

5:30-7pm: Meet ‘N Greet Wine and Cheese Reception

Saturday, November 2, 2024 

7:30-8:15am: Full Breakfast 

8:30-11:45 am (3 Hours): Creating Accountability Structures to Ensure Ethical Professional Work Frances Williams-Crawford, L.C.S.W-C.

Participants will be able to:

  • Locate the standards for ethical conduct and for social work in the jurisdiction where they practice
  • Discuss the impact of critical thinking vs. emotional/pressured thinking about casework decisions and work/life balance
  • Describe accountability structures to help ensure casework in compliance with standards to increase worker confidence

11: 45am-12:30 pm: Lunch

12:30--3:45 pm (3 Hours) Supervisor's Guide to Workplace Safety to Promote Professional Growth and Staff Retention Frances Williams-Crawford, L.C.S.W-C.

Participants will be able to:

  • Discuss specific ways to establish roles and expectations that support boundaries and a healthy and long-lasting career
  • Develop and practice a Safety Culture in the workplace
  • Establish healthy work/life boundaries and engage in daily tasks to the highest performance level

3:45pm: Adjourn to enjoy the beach, shopping, networking

Sunday, November 3, 2024 

7:30-8:15 am:  Continental Breakfast 

8:30-11:45 (3 Hours) They’re Not Asking & We’re Not Telling: Professional Impairment in Social Work Practice Emily Weaver, LICSW & Timiza Woods, LICSW

Participants will be able to:

  • Recognize triggers, transference, countertransference and defense mechanisms in professionally impaired co-workers and self
  • Evaluate effects of outside stressors on patients, peers and personal & professional standards
  • Identify resources to ensure balance in Social Work practice and to insure prevention of impairment in the workplace

11:45 am - Noon - Wrap-up, Evaluations, Raffle, CEUs
